ITANAGAR, Feb 22: The Indigenous Faith and Culture Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) on Saturday has sought clarification and status of the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religious Act-1978 (APFRA) and its implementation process.
Addressing the newsperson here at Arunachal Press Club (APC) IFCSAP Spokesperson Pai Dawe said that all successive government of state has been assuring for implementation of the APFRA-1978 but they have lost confidence for decades.
“The former general secretary has filed a PIL and the courts have given direction for framing of rules within (6) six months and it may be a reason that hue and cry are being made. Despite trying to frame rules the state government has been announcing for its implementation which is the matter in the public domain and is matter of question,” he said.
“As per direction of the court the state government should abide by it or else if someone want to oppose its better go to court. Terming the APFRA may help us to know the exact population and demographic statistic and it does not mean that it is against one religion but it will help documenting statistic.
