Arunachal rural bank adds another feather on its cap

ITANAGAR, Oct 27: In yet another achievement, Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB) has touched a new milestone by generating profit of Rs 9.14 crore in a six-month time, ending September 30, 2022.

This is a growth of 175 percent on a year to year basis.

The deposit of the bank stood at Rs 1,065 cr as on September 30 against last year September deposit of Rs 820.51 cr, hence deposit grew by 29.87 per cent on YoY basis and Advance also grew by 31.21 per cent in a similar line, an official statement said.

The NPA of the bank went down from 4.29 per cent as on September 30, 2021 to 3.90 per cent as on September 30, 2022.

Lauding the performance of the bank, chairman Dr Deepak Kumar Gupta also informed that the financial health indicator of APRB was one of the best across RRBs in the country.

Its Capital Adequacy Ratio stood at 13.96 per cent against NABARD benchmark of 9 per cent for RRBs. NIM of the bank stood at 4.38 per cent and business per employee had gone past Rs 13.50 crore.

In addition to the best financial report of September, Dr. Gupta also informed that APRB was going to open its 32nd branch in Palin during the first week of November.

The bank also has plans to open new branches in Seppa, Tawang, Dirang and Bomdila in the last quarter of this current financial year by recruiting new people.

The chairman informed that APRB was now almost a complete digital bank.

“It is live on UPI platform and APRB has linked itself to Google Pay, Paytm and Phone Pe which constitute almost 95 per cent of total UPI transactions, “ he said.

He added that the Bank was going to open 14 new ATMs across Arunachal Pradesh for better customer service.

It has also extended its mobile banking services to Current Account  customers in addition to existing Saving Bank customers.

The bank has also started lending towards government sponsored schemes like PMEGP, PMSvanidhi, DDBU, CMKRY, etc. it is extending interest subvention from the government of India to its KCC borrowers. The bank is extending loans to farmers through Atma Nirbhar Bhagwani and Krishi Yojna schemes of the state government. It is the main bank of the state for financing Self Help Groups. The bank has taken a vision in line with instruction of DFS, Ministry of Finance to give social security schemes like PMSBY, PMJJBY and API to all PMJDY account holders. The bank is live on ePPA mode for PFMS transactions which is done by government departments that have opened their accounts with APRB.

The customer base of APRB has surpassed 3 lakh. It has added more than one lakh customers in the last two years itself which shows the existing strength and trust of the bank in the minds of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

The website of the bank has a dedicated link to address the grievances of the customers and the bank is very proactive towards redressal of the same.

“If all goes well, the bank has a vision of having a presence in all districts of Arunachal Pradesh soon,” Dr Gupta said, extending his gratitude to media persons for their kind support towards building the brand image of the bank.
