The apprehended individuals, identified as Mohammad Hanif (50), Mohammad Yusuf Ali (35), Parul Begum, and Jasmine Akhtar, all from different parts of Bagerhat district in Bangladesh, had reportedly entered India through a border town.

They had traveled by auto-rickshaws throughout the night before being dropped off near the LIC office in Dharmanagar.

Upon questioning, the group revealed that they had been lured to India by a man named Rubel from Dhaka, who had promised them employment opportunities in Bangalore.

The deteriorating economic conditions in Bangladesh are believed to have motivated the individuals to seek better prospects in India.
