SHILLONG, June 23: The police have arrested four drug traffickers and seized heroin from two locations in Shillong in Meghalaya.
The accused have been identified as Ram Singh (29) and Vijay Singh (20). The duo was apprehended by the anti-narcotic task force (ANTF), East Khasi Hills along with a team from Mawlai Police Station at ISBT in Mawiong on Saturday, police said on Sunday.
The police recovered nine soap boxes containing heroin weighing 110.32 grams, two mobile phones and a Scooty Aprilia without registration number from their possession.
In another operation on the same day, the ANTF, East Khasi Hills Shillong arrested two persons from from Demthring under the Madanrting Police Station.
The accused have been identified as Evanjrlyne Thongni of Lapalang, Lummarboh and John Robert Kharmyndai of Nongmynsong.
One soap box containing heroin weighing 11.43 grams, two mobile phones and a scooty were seized from their possession, the police added. (NNN)
