GUWAHATI, July 1: Guwahati international Airport acts as a gateway to the Northeast India along with its thirty two domestic and two international destinations for passengers from Guwahati.
Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati recorded as footfall of nearly 5 Lakh passengers in June 2023, witnessing a sharp increase from the corresponding month of last year.
Out of the total, nearly 295000 were departure passengers and the remaining being arrival travellers is altogether 15% higher than last year June.
The top four national destinations from Guwahati are Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangaluru. Similarly the two international destinations are Singapore and Paro.
The airport witnessed nearly 4000 movement of flights in June 2023, which is higher than the last year June 2022 figure. The airport also handled a record footfall of nearly 5 Lakh passengers in May. This traffic shows that air travel is resurging after the pandemic period.
Guwahati Airport is hopeful of consistent growth in the coming winter schedule starting from the month of October. In the winter season, the rise of the passengers will increase. Now LGBIA expect a strong surge during the winter schedule season.
