GUWAHATI, Aug 22: In the wake of the heinous RG Kar Hospital crime in West Bengal that sent shivers down the spine of every citizen of India, Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu has welcomed the decision of the Central government to form a National Task Force (NTF).
Khandu took to X to extend his support. He wrote, “I welcome the decision of @MoHFW_INDIA to form a National Task Force (NTF) to formulate effective recommendations to remedy the issues of concern pertaining to safety, working conditions and well- being of medical professionals and other related matters.”
Based on a mandate by the Supreme Court, the Health Ministry on Wednesday announced the formulation of a 14-member National Task Force (NTF) tasked to “formulate effective recommendations” for the government.
Khandu is confident the NTF will prove to be a valuable supplement to the medical sector across the nation. He wrote, “I am confident that NTF’s valuable inputs and suggestions will go a long way in prevention of violence against medical professionals and providing safe working conditions to them, in creating an enforceable national protocol for dignified and safe working environment for interns, residents, senior residents, doctors, nurses and all medical professionals.”
Appreciating the healthcare workers’ contribution to society, he further added, “Every stakeholder engaged in the healthcare sector does a great job while treating and taking care of patients. They have a crucial role in improving our people’s ease of living. It is our solemn duty to protect their dignity and become a responsible partner in creating a healthier and happier society together.”
