AGARTALA: Aug 19: Tripura chief minister Manik Saha announced on Monday that the state will host the Northeast Council (NEC) meeting, scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 1.
Saha expressed his delight, stating, “It is indeed a happy day as the NEC meeting will be held in Tripura. In the past, we used to travel to Assam and Meghalaya to attend NEC meetings. This time, six chief ministers and six Governors of the Northeastern states, along with Union home minister Amit Shah and DoNER minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, will attend the event. In this meeting, we will address all issues related to Tripura, including border and developmental concerns. We will also showcase the innovative work happening in Tripura, and discussions will be held with other Northeastern states.”
Saha added that he will chair a review meeting to oversee the arrangements, given the large number of delegates expected to attend the NEC meeting on August 31 and September 1.
