GUWAHATI, July 4: Indus Towers Limited, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies, has partnered with the Northeast Centre for Equity Action on Integrated Development (NEAID) to extend relief to communities affected by the recent floods in Assam, Manipur and Tripura.
According to an official statement, the company distributed 1,030 dry ration kits under its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Pragati, to families in some of the worst-hit regions, including Cachar in Assam, Imphal in Manipur, and remote locations in Tripura.
Indus Towers employees were present on the ground, assisting with distribution and offering support to affected families, the statement said.
The initiative, it added, was part of the company’s effort to support communities during crises and promote resilience.
“We at Indus Towers are deeply committed to supporting families affected by the floods with timely and meaningful assistance,” said Rajender Singh Gurung, Circle CEO of Indus Towers Limited. “Our Indus employees have actively volunteered for this humanitarian cause and addressed urgent food needs and helped families on their path to recovery.”
NEAID Co-Founder Meraj Ahmed said thousands of families had been left struggling in the wake of the floods, with limited access to essential supplies.
“With the support of Indus Towers, we remain committed to standing by the most vulnerable, ensuring timely relief reaches those in urgent need and supporting both their immediate recovery and long-term resilience,” he said.
The collaboration is part of Indus Towers’ broader CSR commitment to community resilience, disaster response and sustainable development in some of the country’s most vulnerable regions.
