DIMAPUR, May 24: The healthcare management in Nagaland will from now be as per the Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS) norms.
Informing this at a review meeting of the programmes and activities under the National Health Mission (NHM) in Kohima, commissioner and secretary of the state health and family welfare department, V Kezo said, “As a fraternity the department needs to come together, discuss issues, make efforts and have a clear vision and goal.”
The review meeting was held at the conference hall of state directorate of health and family welfare in Kohima on Friday.
He reminded everyone in the department to stay focused while reiterating the role of the department in placing issues of importance before the authorities concerned so that they can actively get involved in taking forward such activities.
Addressing the meeting, state health and family welfare minister, P Paiwang Konyak said the financial allocations should be made as per the needs and priorities of the various programmes.
He sought timely sharing of updates on activities from the different programme officers so that everyone could put their heads together for the successful implementation of the health programmes in the state.
Principal director of the health department, E Motsuthung Patton said, “Unless we achieve our targets and improve our indicators, the state will not receive the complete funds from the central government, which will hamper the implementation of different programmes.”
Mission director of National Health Mission, Nagaland, Akuo Sorhie gave an overview of the mission at the meeting.
