Northeast Indian diaspora announces international summit

GUWAHATI, July 25: The Northeast India Scientific and Entrepreneurial Diaspora (NEISED) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of a virtual event held on the other day, that marked significant milestones in its ongoing efforts to bring about scientific and bio-based entrepreneurial growth in Northeast India. The event witnessed the participation of members from across North America, Europe, South Africa and Australia, along with regional members from diverse professional backgrounds, showcasing the collective commitment to this noble cause. The event marked the official launch of NEISED’s website, a digital platform designed to serve as a hub for collaboration, information sharing, resource mobilisation and a doorway to global opportunities for a thriving ecosystem for bio-based innovation and entrepreneurship.

 The website was inaugurated by the education minister of Assam, Ranoj Pegu. During the virtual meet, he stated the importance of realising the golden trove of biodiversity sheltered within the Northeastern states of the country, culminating to the economic progress of the region. Adding to that, Pegu has highly appreciated the formation of NEISED and emphasised our social responsibility towards a sustainable future, highlighting the necessity of giving back to the ecosystem we were all brought up in. Praising NEISED’s voluntary efforts, he noted how the organisation will guide the new generation towards a culture of responsibility and growth.

The other highlight of the virtual meet was the first official announcement of the upcoming 1st International Bio manufacturing Summit 2025, scheduled to take place on January 10-11, 2025. This summit will bring together global industry leaders, academicians, Government stakeholders, researchers, and students to deliberate on the advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the sphere of Biomanufacturing in Northeast India.

The official launch of NEISED’s social media handles on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter) was also announced. The content development team of NEISED stated that these platforms will serve as key channels for engagement, updates, and community building, enabling NEISED to reach a wider audience and promote greater interaction among its members.
