Operation Sindoor: CM’s of Northeastern states hail arm forces retaliatory attacks

‘Our Prime Minister does what he says’

GUWAHATI, May 7: Chief Ministers of Northeastern states have hailed Indian armed forces’ targeted attacks on terror hideouts and infrastructure in Pakistan on Wednesday.

The attacks by the armed forces codenamed as Operation Sindoor were carried out the armed forces in the wee hours of Wednesday. The attacks were carried out in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack that left 26 people, mostly tourists, dead

After Indian armed forces struck nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi “does what he says”.

“The Pahalgam attack was a senseless and barbaric incident that shocked the entire world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised the strongest retaliation to the terror attack, saying no one will be spared. Our Prime Minister does what he says,” Saha told reports.

Indian Armed forces showed the highest degree of professionalism in the Operation Sindoor by flooring terror infrastructure in Pakistan, the chief minister said.

“The people of Tripura are with the Prime Minister and the Armed forces,” he said.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday hailed ‘Operation Sindoor’ carried out by the Indian armed forces in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and asserted that there is no room for terrorism.

Taking to X, he said “#OperationSindoor India remembers and India fights back. There is no room for terrorism. Jai Hind.”

In retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes early Wednesday on nine terror targets in Pakistan and PoK, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base Muridke.

The military strikes were carried out under ‘Operation Sindoor’ two weeks after the massacre of 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday praised the Indian armed forces for their actions against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stating that the wounds of Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives, “still ache.”

In a post on X, Singh said, “The wounds of Pahalgam still ache, but today, justice has begun to answer. Jai Hind!”

State Congress chief Keisham Meghachandra shared party leader Rahul Gandhi’s remark on the strike stating “Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!”

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Wednesday said the ‘Operation Sindoor’ by Indian armed forces sent a message that India would not tolerate any threat to its unity and peace.

He expressed his deepest gratitude and pride over the successful execution of the operation.

Retaliating against the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces on early Wednesday carried out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke.

The military strikes were conducted under ‘Operation Sindoor’ two weeks after the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.

A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said, “On behalf of the people of Sikkim, I extend my deepest salute to our brave soldiers who delivered swift and decisive justice in response to the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam.”

“This operation sends a clear message that India will not tolerate any threat to its unity and peace. We stand firmly with our armed forces and honour their sacrifice,” it said.

The courage and commitment of the armed forces “not only safeguard the nation’s sovereignty but also uphold the dignity of every Indian mother who wears sindoor with pride and freedom”, the statement added.
