Amidst Tripura’s unusual spell of heavy rainfall, Saha sought technological support for better forecasting and disaster preparedness. In response, Singh assured that the Ministry of Earth Sciences will install a cutting-edge weather radar in the state within a year. The radar, in conjunction with an existing space research center in the region, will provide real-time updates on rainfall and cyclones, significantly improving disaster management efforts.

Discussions also focused on boosting Tripura’s bamboo industry. Singh informed the Chief Minister that specialized institutes in Assam’s Jorhat and Manipur, dedicated to biotechnology and bamboo research, will collaborate with the Tripura government to maximize bamboo’s economic potential.

The meeting further addressed administrative matters, particularly the placement of bureaucrats and officers in the state. Dr. Singh acknowledged the concerns and assured necessary follow-ups with relevant authorities.

Additionally, Saha, who also serves as the Health Minister, briefed the Union Minister about the establishment of Tripura’s first Government Dental College.
