Agartala, May 22: In a significant development, two Bangladeshi nationals were detained at Agartala railway station for illegally entering India without valid documents, according to sources on Wednesday.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Nargis Akhter, 35, and Mehedi Hassan, 35, both hailing from the Khulna district of Bangladesh.
Sources reported that the arrests were made by local authorities, who then registered a specific case against the two at the Government Railway Police station at Agartala railway station. The charges fall under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant laws, including IPC sections 120 (B) and 370, section (A)/14(C) of the Foreigner Act 1946, and section three of the IPP Act.
Police officials have confirmed that the two accused will be presented before the court on Wednesday.
