IMPHAL, Oct 7: After a hot pursuit, police in Manipur’s Kakching district arrested two persons including a woman with 809 grams of heroin powder on Thursday, around 12.10 pm, police said.
The police also said that a team of police commandos in Kakching district signaled to stop a car (Vitara Brezza) coming from Pallel side along NH-102 for checking.
The car, however, tried to escape the checkpoint.

The police commando immediately chased the car and overtook it after and detained the driver and the occupant of the vehicle.
They have been identified as Naoba of Bishnupur district and Lhingchin of Moreh, according to police.
The police commandos then conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered 65 soap cases containing suspected heroin powder.
The recovered item weighed 809 grams in total. Following the recovery of the contraband drugs, the police commandos detained the duo driver and occupant (suspected to be the owner of the contraband drugs).
The duo and the seized articles were handed over to Kakching police station for taking up further necessary legal action against them, the police added. (NNN)
