Wakro Sisters to perform Carnatic Music Recital at Namsai District Library today

ITANAGAR, May 6: A special Carnatic music recital featuring the renowned Wakro sisters, Ashapmal Dellang and Dehelti Ama, will be held at the District Library in Namsai on May 7, at 11:00 am. The event is being organized by the Lohit Youth Library Network, Tezu, and is expected to draw music lovers and cultural enthusiasts from across the region.

Adding to the significance of the event, Chowna Mein, Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, and Chau Zingnu Namchoom, Hon”ble MLA of Namsai, have graciously consented to attend the programme as guests of honour.

In preparation for the event, the Namsai District Administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure its smooth conduct. The Deputy Commissioner of Namsai, C.R. Khampa, has issued a detailed order outlining responsibilities assigned to various departments.

The Superintendent of Police, Namsai, will oversee security arrangements, while Dr K Sarmah, DVO/DPO, has been tasked with protocol duties. Officials from departments such as Health, Food & Civil Supplies, PWD, and the local Library Team have been entrusted with decoration, reception, felicitation, and refreshments.

The PWD has been instructed to complete stage construction and venue decoration by May 5, while the Power Department has been directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the event.

Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Blooming Buds Public School will contribute to the cultural aspect of the event by participating in the felicitation and welcome song in traditional attire.

Deputy Commissioner Khampa has appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner Nang Kalyani Namchoom as the overall in-charge of the programme.

The musical event aims to promote classical music and celebrate local talent, reflecting the growing cultural engagement in the region.
