Assam team gears up for 2nd Khelo India Para Games 2025

GUWAHATI, March 16: The Paralympic Association of Assam, in association with the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare, Government of Assam, organised a send-off ceremony for the Assam Team participating in the 2nd Khelo India Para Games 2025. The event is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from March 20 to March 27.

The ceremony also included the felicitation of Ababil Ali for winning the Silver medal at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025. 

The selected athletes representing Assam in Para Athletics are Ababil Ali, Hukeswar Deka, Amar Jyoti Gogo, Dhunu Taw, Arshad Uddin Borbhuyan, Dipti Phukan, and Juri Deka. In Para Badminton, Chiranjita Bharali has been selected to represent the state. 

Dignitaries present during the send-off ceremony included Kausar Jamil Hilaly, secretary of Sports, Government of Assam; Dr. Sutapa Chakrabarty, Executive Member of the Paralympic Committee of India; Jitu Talukdar, Independent Director of APCL; Rajib Dey, general secretary of the Paralympic Association of Assam; and Chandan Baruah, president of Paralympic Association of Assam.
