GUWAHATI, March 31: Chandogya Tridev Pathak reached the final defeating Eashandeep Boro in the Boy’s Singles (under 12 years) semi-final by 4-1, 4-0 while in the other semi-final Naman Borah beat Ayyan Rehman 5-3, 4-0 in the 5th Guwahati Open Junior Tennis Championship – 2022, organised by Guwahati Lawn Tennis association (GLTA) held at the RG Baruah Sports Complex, Nehru Stadium played here on Thursday.

In the Girl’s Singles (under 12 years) Nayeem Hussain reached final by defeating Semiramis Baruah 4-0, 4-0 while in the second semi-final Arnavi Debnath beat Sernya La 4-0, 4-0.

In the Boy’s Singles (under 14 years) Borneel Borah and Chandogya Tridev Pathak reached finals by defeating Parthiv Kalita 6-0, 1-6, 10-5 and Ritik Rout 6-4, 7-5 respectively in their respective semi-finals.

In the Girl’s Singles (under 14 years) Nistha Priya Bezbarua reached final by defeating Soni Prajapati in the semi-final 6-1, 6-0 while in the second semi-final Bishnupriya Borgohain beat Adrika Rajkumari by 7-5, 3-6, 10-4.

Till reporting of the news the semi-final matches of Boy’s and Girl’s Singles (under 18 years) respectively are still going.

All the finals of the championship will begin tomorrow from 7.30 am onwards. The closing function of the championship will start from 3.00 pm on April 01 where Bimal Bora, Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam will attend the function as the Chief Guest while Nibedan Das Patowary, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam and Lakhya Konwar, General Secretary, Assam Olympic Association will attend as Guests-of-Honour. The organisers requested all sports lovers to witness the final matches to encourage the young budding talents and also attend the closing function.
