GUWAHATI, July 29: The 10-day Summer Tennis Coaching Camp – 2022, organised by the Guwahati Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) at the R.G. Baruah Sports Complex, Nehru Stadium from July 20 successfully concluded on Friday.
Altogether 20 players of GLTA Tennis Academy, in the age group of 7 to 16 took part in the camp. The coaching was imparted by the Chief Coach Rupam Gogoi and Assistant Coach Sahidul Islam of GLTA Tennis Academy respectively in two sessions daily.
In the brief closing function, Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Guwahati and a keen tennis player and Pulak Goswami, President, Guwahati Sports Association and an eminent sports organiser attended the function as Guest-of-Honours. Bhaskar Sarma, General Secretary, GLTA welcomed the gathering.
President of GLTA Kalyan Kumar Das felicitated the distinguished guests and also spoke about the future plans to promote the game of tennis with the motto of the Association “Tennis for All”.
Chief coach Rupam Gogoi gave a brief report of the camp. The distinguished guests lauded the efforts of the GLTA for organising such coaching camps for promoting the game of tennis and creating a healthy lifestyle amongst the children and also advised the organiser to organise more such camps and also tournaments to give maximum exposure to the young budding talented players to achieve their goals.
The guests distributed certificates and medals to all the participants and also felicitated the coaches of the camp.
