Lily Kropi, Pranjit Bordoloi Win In Badminton Championship

DONGKAMUKAM, Feb 18: Lily Kropi defeated Tahin Kropi (Girls section) 22-20, 12-21 and 22-20 in a close contest in the Club Badminton Championship 2022 in memory of Ratan Br Chouhan Chetry, the father of Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Chandra Br Chetry.

In Boys category, Pranjit Bordoloi defeated Lipson Phangcho 21-15 and 21-11. In the men’s category, David Phangcho defeated his rival Amrit Engti 21-11 and 21-18.

In the men’s veterans’ category, Sarsing Terang won by defeating Diganta Kro in straight sets 22-20 and 21-16.

The Badminton Championship organised by Tumpreng Sports Association (TSA) for two days on February 17 and 18 was held at Tumpreng Higher Secondary school playground.

For all the categories a cash award of Rupees two thousand along trophy was given. The Runner’s up receives a cash award of Rupees one thousand and a trophy.

The match was attended by the President of TSA, Mridul Teron, General Secretary of TSA, Jayanta Hokai and hundreds of sports lovers.
