NYK Diphu’s District Level Sports Meet Concludes

DIPHU, March 19: District level sports meet, 2023 concluded at Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) stadium on Sunday. The event was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diphu; Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India in collaboration with Diphu Athletics Academy under KASA.

Single events were held at KASA stadium, while group events were held at Kakoti Ronghang playground. The events include kabaddi, volleyball, tuck of war, cycling, long jump, short put and 400 metre race.

A prize giving ceremony was held at KASA stadium on Sunday morning, which was attended by Member of Autonomous Council (MAC), Jhony Timung; former general secretary, KASA, Dhansing Rongpi; general secretary, Karbi Lamet Amei, Joysing Tokbi and others.

In cycling boys, Sono Rajbhar got first prize, Hemson Rongpi second and Monu Rajbhar third, while in girls Rubina Teronpi got first prize, Lina Hansepi second and Lirka Tissopi third.

In 400 metre race, girls Lakshmi Beypi got first prize, Samika Ronghangpi second and Larlyn Timungpi and in boys Bablu Bora got first prize, Augustin Enghi second and Hemson Rongpi third.

In long jump for boys, Littule Das got first prize, Thomas Malar second and Lokhan Enghi third and for girls Lakshmi Beypi got first prize, Priya Koch second and Sangmir Teronpi third. In short-put for boys Krishna Hanse got first prize, Augustin Enghi second and Sumit Biswa third and for girls Kajir Millikpi got first prize, Lakshmi Beypi second and Rubina Teronpi third.

In group event tug-of-war boys, Borlangpher was the champion and Diphu Athletics Academy runners up and in girls Kakoti Ronghang club were champion and Diphu Athletics Academy as runners up.

In Kabaddi boys, Diphu Athletics Academy was the champion and Hanjanglangso team was the runners up and for girls Kakoti Ronghang club won the championship and Diphu Athletics Academy was runners up.

In volleyball boys, Hanjanglangso team were champion and Dhansiri team won runners up and in girls Diphu Athletics Academy were runners up and in girls Diphu Athletics Academy were champion and Kakoti Ronghang club were runners up.

Best athlete in girls was given to Lakshmi Beypi, while the best athlete boy was given to Agustin Enghi.
