Rintu Brahma wins KA District Open Chess C’ship

DIPHU, June 27: The 13th Karbi Anglong District Open Chess Championship concluded on June 25 here, with Rintu Brahma winning the first prize, followed by Uttam Tokbi winning the second prize and Robi Singh Teron and Chandan Engti winning the third and fourth prizes respectively.

The first prize winner Rintu Brahma was awarded with a trophy and cash prize of Rs.5000, while the second prize winner Uttam Brahma, third prize winner Robi Singh Teron and fourth prize winner Chandan Engti also received trophies and cash prize of Rs. 3000, Rs. 2000 and Rs.1000 respectively.

The tournament is organised by Karbi Anglong District Chess Association and played at Klirdap Sankar Dev Sishu Vidya Niketan, Diphu.

The four ranking person’s viz. first ranking Rintu Brahma, second ranking Uttam Tokbi, third ranking Robi Singh Teron and fourth ranking Chandan Engti winning in the 13th Karbi Anglong District Open Chess Championship will represent Karbi Anglong in the All Assam Inter-District Chess Championship to be played on July 4 to 9 at Dongkamukam, West Karbi Anglong.
