GUWAHATI, March 17: In a display of sheer mastery and strategic brilliance, Suryanshu Saikia secured the championship title at the Guwahati Chess Academy Under-7 Chess Championship 2024, held from March 15 to 17. The tournament, hosted at the prestigious Guwahati Chess Academy premises on R G Baruah Road, witnessed young chess prodigies showcasing their talent and intellect on the chequered battlefield.
Suryanshu Saikia, exhibiting unwavering dominance, remained undefeated throughout the competition, amassing a perfect score of 3 points from 3 rounds. The final round saw Suryanshu clinching victory against a formidable opponent, Aadvik Banik, who secured the second position with 2 points from 3 rounds.
Agastya Baruah claimed the third position with 1 point from 3 rounds, while Gaurav Sarma secured the fourth position in this tightly contested championship.
The tournament, organized in a round-robin league system among four skilled players, witnessed intense battles of intellect and strategy, captivating the audience with every move on the chessboard.
