DIBRUGARH, Nov 27: In a solemn celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti, devotees from across Dibrugarh district converged at the Dibrugarh Gurdwara on Monday, immersing themselves in prayers and Kirtan hymns.

The 554th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the revered founder of the Sikh faith, was marked with a spirit of reverence and devotion. The day unfolded with the recitation of the Guru Granth Sahib, the holiest scripture of Sikhism.

As the recitation concluded, the air resonated with the melodious strains of Kirtan hymns, filling the hearts and minds of the gathered devotees with profound devotion.

“Our celebrations have been ongoing for the past three days,” remarked Baghel Singh, a committee member of the Gurdwara. “Today, we culminate the festivities with Prakash Ustav, the grand finale. The program will conclude around 12.30 pm.”

Singh further elaborated on the overwhelming response to the langar, a community feast prepared and served as a symbol of equality and inclusivity. “Around 10,000 people gathered here for langar,” he stated. “Individuals from all faiths and backgrounds came to seek blessings from Babaji.”

The Dibrugarh Gurdwara, established in 1919, serves as a beacon of Sikhism in the region, fostering a deep connection between the community and its spiritual roots. Guru Nanak Jayanti, celebrated annually, serves as a powerful reminder of Guru Nanak’s teachings of love, compassion, and universal unity.
