An official statement from the Assam government confirmed that Santanu Deuri, Director of the Assam Pavilion, received the silver medal on November 27 from Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).

In the same event, Odisha won the gold medal and Rajasthan received the bronze medal. The trade fair, which began on November 14 and ended on November 27, was held at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. It was attended by 28 states and Union Territories, 13 foreign countries, and multiple large corporate houses.

The fair showcased products made by female artisans and entrepreneurs from Assam. The Assam Pavilion also exhibited Assam’s rich cultural heritage, handicrafts, and handlooms. The event theme was ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, aligning with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s vision of making Assam one of the top five states in India.

A significant gathering was witnessed as 37 booths were established showcasing famous handloom products, government-operated handicraft stores, and multiple state government-affiliated departments and organizations.
