The event saw active involvement from Assam Trinamool Congress President and former Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora, Trinamool Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev, and other state leaders.

As both the Trinamool Congress candidate and Dima Hasao Trinamool Congress president, Aching Zeme received warm welcomes from various communities, including Naga, Gorkha, Dimasa, and Hmar, during the procession. The route was decorated with traditional gamosas, representing the region’s cultural diversity.

Amid the energetic rally, Aching Zeme’s passionate supporters chanted slogans such as ‘BJP Hatao, Desh Bachao,’ ‘Aching Zeme Zindabad,’ and ‘Sahye Pani To Lao Zemi,’ creating a vibrant and electrifying environment in Haflong. Speaking to the press, Aching Zeme raised concerns about the ongoing lack of development in Haflong.

He noted that despite Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s promise for a road project connecting Lower Haflong and Garampani, the initiative has been stalled by a land scam involving certain BJP leaders. Aching Zeme stressed the necessity for fair compensation to the legitimate landowners.

He also brought attention to the persistent issue of drinking water scarcity in Haflong, a problem that has lasted for many years. Reflecting critically on previous elections, Aching Zeme highlighted the pattern of elected officials neglecting the people’s struggles after winning.

In this regard, he asserted that Assam Trinamool Congress is committed to addressing the real issues faced by the people, positioning the party as the main advocate for the community’s concerns. As the election approaches, Aching Zeme’s campaign aims to connect with voters who are seeking practical solutions to longstanding problems.
