JAGIROAD, Feb 22: The employees of the Jagiroad Development Authority have not received their salaries for the last 45 months. It is learned that not only Jagiroad, but also the employees of all other 24 Development Authorities in the state have been without salaries for the past year. Consequently, the employees are facing acute financial hardship to meet their day-to-day needs.
On the other hand, it has been reported that an employee of the JDA, belonging to the general caste, recently applied for an Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate for his son’s academic purposes at the Circle Officer’s Office, Mayong RC, in the district of Morigaon. However, the circle officer rejected the application. It is learned that the circle officer denied the employee’s son the academic benefits despite the employee fulfilling all the eligibility criteria applicable to the EWS certificate. He urged the concerned authorities of the district to consider the obstacles to their hopes of educating his son.
