CEM Pramod Boro distributes Mainao Swrang Bithangkhi funds

KOKRAJHAR, March 12: Empowering women entrepreneurs towards self-reliance and financial independence has been a top priority of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Accordingly, financial assistance cheques of Rs 25,000 each (first installment of Rs 75,000) under Mainao Swrang Bithangkhi were distributed to 2049 women-led self-help groups (SHGs) on Tuesday at a program held at Dimakuchi in Udalguri district.

Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed the cheques among the SHG beneficiaries in the presence of Dilip Saikia, Lok Sabha MP, and several dignitaries. The financial assistance was given to the SHGs under the flagship program of Mainao Swrang Bithangkhi initiated by the Government of BTR.

CEM Boro stated that the BTR Government is dedicatedly working towards the welfare and upliftment of society. “The Government of BTR has achieved a milestone by providing financial support under our flagship initiative to 6000 SHGs in this financial year alone, thus promoting grassroots entrepreneurship and incubating a culture of self-reliance among the women of BTR,” Boro said.

Meanwhile, continuing Assam’s #VikasYatra under the guidance of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Tuesday, CEM Pramod Boro laid the foundation stone for the new higher secondary school building in Kalaigaon, Udalguri district. Furthermore, CEM also laid the foundation stone for the school building of Bholabari High School in Udalguri. This transformative initiative aims to provide improved educational infrastructure, fostering a conducive environment for enhanced learning experiences, nurturing the potential of students, and promoting educational growth.
