CEM reviews execution of schemes with official

DIPHU, June 27: A review meeting with all the departmental officials was conducted by chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang here at Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Memorial Town Hall, Matipung on Monday.

The objective of the meeting was to assess the schemes which could not be completed in the last financial year i.e., 2021-2022.
In the meeting, the department officials submitted their reports on schemes that have been completed and which are yet to be completed.
Addressing the meeting, the CEM asked all the government employees to extend their cooperation in delivering service to the people.
“The officers coming from other districts to attend last year’s DC conference have commented that many changes have taken place in Karbi Anglong and this is really true. The officials and staff of various departments have really worked hard in changing the face of Karbi Anglong and the credit goes to you all,” the CEM said.
The CEM admitted that due to Covid-19 pandemic and Assembly election, Municipal Board elections and KAAC elections, not many developmental schemes could be executed.
He asked the staff and officials of Revenue Department to check encroachment in border areas and issuance of land pattas on government land.
He directed Mandals not to issue pattas to those who are occupying government land. “But if any person encroaches government land and possesses land pattas then the Mandals will be responsible,” the CEM said.
He also said in one week all Mandals will be transferred and posted to various places.
The CEM directed the forest officials to perform their duty for protection of forest.
“There are no extremists now. Those remaining have surrendered, but felling of trees is continuing. There will be transfers and posting of Forest staff and they should abide by the KAAC order,” the CEM announced.
On complaints regarding some teachers not going to schools, he asked the concerned officials of the Education Department to look into the matter. “Show Cause Notice should be given and if necessary termination of their service should be done if any teacher is found neglecting their duty,” he said.
The CEM said the recruitment for filling up 2,441 vacancies in all departments will be done. Advertisements in this regard will be given. The appointments will be through interviews and on merit basis.
The meeting was attended by Member of Autonomous Council, MP Horensing Bey; MLAs Bidyasing Engleng and Dorsing Ronghang and principal secretary of KAAC Mukul Kumar Saikia.
