It can be mentioned here that traffic between Dimapur and Kohima was disconnected due to a massive landslide near Dzüdza Bridge under Sechü-Zubza, Kohima district, NH-29, that occurred on August 19. Following the development, several heavy vehicles were seen stranded in either direction of the road.

Meanwhile, in a notification today, the Kohima district administration said partial opening of the highway for heavy vehicles shall be allowed between 7 pm to 6 am till September 2. However, heavy passenger vehicles like buses shall not be allowed till further orders.

Further, the general commuters have been requested to follow the travel advisory issued earlier vide letter of even number dated August 17, 2024.

Therefore, in the interest of safety and restoration of the NH-29, the general public has been requested to extend cooperation.
