Body of handyman found in Margherita quarry

MARGHERITA, Oct 16: On Wednesday morning, the body of Sunil Kumar, a handyman from Muzaffarpur, Uttar Pradesh, was found under suspicious circumstances in a stone quarry owned by Rajendra Singh alias Babua, located near NH 315, Bargolai, under Margherita co-district.

Sunil Kumar was the handyman of a trailer vehicle bearing the registration number HR 58B-2537.

According to local people, the trailer arrived at the stone quarry in Bargolai around 8:00 pm on Tuesday.

Sunil Kumar reportedly went alone to have dinner after parking the vehicle.

Early on Wednesday morning, his body was discovered on the ground, leading to suspicions of foul play. Bloodstains were seen on the vehicle and the ground nearby, raising concerns among locals about a possible murder.

The Margherita police, accompanied by the Margherita Executive Magistrate, reached the location to recover the body and started an investigation.

The investigation aims to determine the cause of death and whether it was accidental or deliberate.

The police plan to question locals, the driver, and other witnesses to uncover the details surrounding Sunil Kumar’s death.

Margherita police have sent the body for a postmortem at Tinsukia Civil Hospital, and further investigation was ongoing at the time of this report.
