Aron Raja Basumatary wins Sahitya Akademi award

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 18: Noted Bodo writer Aron Raja Basumatary has been conferred the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in the Bodo language for his acclaimed novel ‘Swrni Takai’.

Basumatary is one of well known writers of Bodo and he authored nearly 20 books including novels till date.

He has received the prestigious Sahitya Akademi award for his creation Swrni Takai novel book.

On the achievement of Aron Raja, Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) extended warm congratulations, and best wishes to Aron Raja Basumatary on his Sahitya Akademi award winning.

He also said that the award winning is an achievement of Basumatary’s literary creativity.
