DHUBRI, March 12: A ten-day candle-making training program aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship successfully concluded at UCO Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Dhubri.
Sponsored by UCO Bank and supported by the Government of India, the initiative benefited 35 participants, equipping them with essential skills to start their own ventures in the candle-making industry.
The training, held at the UCO RSETI, Dhubri office premises, featured expert guidance from Swapan Kumar Roy, who provided domain-specific skill training, and Debodotta Chaki, an Entrepreneur Development Programme Trainer at UCO RSETI, Dhubri.
The program focused on practical learning and innovation, ensuring participants gained the confidence to embark on their entrepreneurial journey.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Apun Pratim Handique, director of UCO RSETI, Dhubri, highlighted the significance of such skill development programs in fostering economic independence.
“These initiatives empower individuals to stand on their own feet, support their families, and contribute to Atmanirbhar Bharat,” Handique stated.
Participants, many from nearby areas, expressed optimism about utilising their newly acquired skills to establish their own businesses and achieve financial stability.
This initiative marks another step towards entrepreneurial empowerment, strengthening local economies and advancing India’s goal of self-sufficiency through skill development.
