CSIR-NEIST signs agreements for innovation of technology, boost economy

JORHAT, April 11: CSIR- North East Institute of Science and Technology recently signed several agreements with industry partners and entrepreneurs for use of the Innovation Incubation Centre of NEIST (IICON) which houses 25 cutting edge technologies under one roof.

The agreements have been signed with CIVIQ Infratech, Jorhat for the Welding Facility, Profulla Hazarika for the Egg Plate Making Facility, Fresh Pure Milk, Jorhat for the Milk Processing Plant Facility, M/S Subham India for the Cattle and Poultry Feed Plant Facility, and the Gousamuh Gramaya Foundation for both the Bamboo Processing Plant Facility and the Milk Processing Plant Facility.


These partnerships are expected to kickstart production activities soon, driving innovation and contributing to economic growth in the region.
The IICON platform continues to play a pivotal role in supporting local enterprises, startups, and self-help groups, fostering an environment of collaboration and entrepreneurship.


On January 27, Union Minister of Science & Technology, Jitendra Singh, virtually dedicated the Incubation & Innovation complex to the nation. This state-of-the-art facility has been established under the Science & Technological Intervention for North East India (STINER) project, an ambitious initiative by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), Government of India. IICON serves as a one-stop innovation hub housing 25 cutting-edge technologies under one roof.


To make the most of these world-class facilities, CSIR-NEIST has allotted infrastructure to 23 entrepreneurs from across the Northeast.
