ITANAGAR, July 3: In a moment of pride for Arunachal Pradesh, the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, has conferred the Atmanirbhar Sangathan Award 2024 on Metedene Cluster-Level Federation (CLF) from Sagalee Block, Papumpare District.
The recognition, announced in an official statement, places Metedene CLF in the third position in the “Less than 5 Years” category for the North-East region.
Metedene CLF functions under the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) and has been selected as one of 22 outstanding Self-Help Group Federations from across the country.
The award acknowledges the CLF’s significant contribution to promoting economic resilience among rural women through financial inclusion, skill development, and community mobilisation.
The award is part of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), which aims to support rural communities in building sustainable livelihoods.
The recognition serves as a testament to the CLF’s grassroots efforts in transforming the economic landscape of Sagalee and empowering women through collective leadership and entrepreneurship.
According to the official statement, two office bearers from Metedene CLF will represent Arunachal Pradesh at the Independence Day Celebration in New Delhi, where they will be felicitated by the Union Minister of Rural Development.
During the event, selected representatives will also participate in a dialogue session with the Minister, highlighting their experiences and achievements on a national platform.
Special emphasis will be placed on including articulate leaders, particularly “Lakhpati Didis” — women who have attained financial self-reliance through the mission’s initiatives.
The Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission has lauded the CLF’s efforts, applauding the innovation, resilience, and determination shown by its members.
The Mission reiterated its commitment to nurturing grassroots institutions that not only empower women but also catalyse broader community transformation across the state.
