SSB launches electrician skill training for border youth

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 7: The 15th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Kajalgaon has launched a 15-day Electrician Skill Training Programme under the Civic Action Programme (North Eastern Region) for the financial year 2025-26.

The training programme, which began on Saturday at the Kajalgaon headquarters, will provide training to 36 youths from the India-Bhutan border areas of Chirang district.

During the 15-day course, participants will receive hands-on training in electrical connections, maintenance, and safety practices.

The initiative is expected to enhance employment opportunities and promote self-reliance among the youth in the border region.

Local residents have expressed gratitude to the SSB authorities for carrying out this social initiative aimed at youth empowerment, noting that the training will benefit future generations.
