DIPHU, Oct 30: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Karbi Anglong, under the chairmanship of District Commissioner Nirola Phangchopi, ACS, successfully conducted the Great Assam School Shakeout Programme (GASSP) 2025 on October 29, on the eve of National Disaster Risk Reduction Day, with support from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
The programme was held simultaneously in 64 schools across the district, featuring earthquake and fire mock drills. It aimed to raise awareness and enhance preparedness and response capabilities among students, teachers and school staff in the event of disasters.
