Sonitpur DDC meeting urges faster completion of projects

TEZPUR, Oct 31: The monthly meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) was held on Friday under the chairmanship of District Commissioner Ananda Kumar Das at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Sonitpur. The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Lakhinandan Saharia, Additional District Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and the designated Heads of Departments of the district.

At the outset, the District Commissioner emphasised the urgent need to expedite all pending projects across stakeholder departments. He urged officials to work in a mission mode to ensure timely completion of schemes and infrastructure projects. The Agriculture Department presented updates on the progress of Farmer Registration and targets achieved so far under the Digital Crop Survey. Key issues pertaining to the Health Department were also discussed, with the District Commissioner directing officials to ensure regular attendance of doctors across government health centres and to strengthen mental health awareness, particularly at the grassroots level and among students.

Special focus was placed on the timely completion of major infrastructural projects under the PWD (Building) Department, especially the District Library Auditorium. The District Commissioner also instructed concerned stakeholders to convene meetings and take necessary steps to complete long-pending projects.

The rationalisation of speed breakers in the district was deliberated upon with the PWD (Roads) and Transport Departments. Other topics discussed included Model Anganwadi Centres, CMAAA 2.0, PM Vishwakarma, and proposals for new developmental projects under various departments, along with other flagship government schemes.

In his concluding remarks, the District Commissioner reiterated that all Heads of Departments must ensure efficient implementation and timely completion of schemes under their charge. He emphasised that such meetings should lead to proactive action and improved service delivery for the people of Sonitpur.
