Accidental rifle discharge sparks panic at SBI

SALKOCHA, Oct 31: Panic erupted at the State Bank of India (SBI) Salkocha branch in Bilasipara Co-district on Friday after the rifle of security guard Bipul Kumar Rabha accidentally discharged inside the bank. Customers and staff were gripped with fear and confusion as the shot went off, causing a chaotic scene for several minutes.

The Salkocha Police promptly arrived, brought the situation under control and detained the security guard for questioning. Preliminary reports indicate the incident may have occurred due to negligence while handling the firearm. Witnesses confirmed the bank was crowded at the time, but fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the firing.
