GUWAHATI, Dec 1: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced a new stoppage for Train No 15663/15664 Agartala–Silchar–Agartala Express at Pencharthal (PEC) Railway Station in Tripura, enhancing travel convenience and strengthening regional connectivity. The inaugural flagging-off ceremony took place on Monday at Pencharthal Railway Station, attended by Santana Chakma, Minister for Industries & Commerce, Government of Tripura, along with senior railway officials.
Under the new schedule, Train No 15663 (Agartala–Silchar) will halt at Pencharthal from 14:01 to 14:03 hours, while Train No 15664 (Silchar–Agartala) will stop from 13:13 to 13:15 hours. The addition of this halt is expected to provide smoother travel options, improve access to rail services and enhance connectivity to key destinations for passengers in North Tripura and surrounding areas.
NFR reaffirmed its commitment to expanding regional connectivity, improving passenger amenities and promoting overall development through reliable and passenger-friendly rail transport across the Northeast.
