15 declared foreigners told to leave Assam within 24 hours

NAGAON, Dec 18: The Nagaon district administration has directed 15 individuals, who have been declared foreigners by the Foreigners Tribunal, Assam, to leave the state within 24 hours.

According to official sources, the individuals have been instructed to exit Assam through designated routes at Dhubri, Sribhumi or South Salmara–Mankachar. The order has been issued following their declaration as foreigners by the competent tribunal.

Those directed to leave include Zahura Khatun, daughter of Riaz Uddin of Kandhulimari village under Dhing police station; Abdul Aziz, son of Abdul Ali of Hedayat Nagar under Nagaon police station; Waheda Khatun, wife of Atab Uddin of Bogariguri village under Juria police station; Ajufa Khatun, wife of Abdul Kalam of Garematikhowa village under Rupahihat police station; Hussein Ali, son of Abdul Latif of Dighaliati village under Raha police station; Fazila Khatun, wife of Umar Ali of Hatijujuwa village under Jajari police station; Anura Begum, wife of Kalam Ali of Lenteng village under Samaguri police station; Asha Khatun, wife of Halilur Rahman of Salabari village under Samaguri police station; Nazrul Islam, son of Abdul Latif of Chaparmukh town under Raha police station; Rahim Sheikh, son of Baju of Dighaliati village under Raha police station; Borek Ali, son of Wazuddin Sheikh of Dighaliati village under Raha police station; Idris Ali, son of Samar Ali of Raha town under Raha police station; Rustam Ali, son of Jabar Ali of Pach Hatigaon Tea Estate under Kaliabor police station; Anowar Khan, son of Kurban Khan of Garubandha village under Jakhalabandha police station; and Taher Ali, son of Abdul Hussain of Garalmari village under Uluwani police station.

The district administration has warned that failure to comply with the directive within the stipulated time will result in forced expulsion under the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950.

The order further stated that the names of the declared foreigners will be removed from the electoral rolls, their ration cards will be cancelled, Aadhaar cards will be frozen and all government social security benefits will be withdrawn with immediate effect, sources added.
