TEZPUR, Dec 29: The District Consultative Committee/District Level Review Committee (DCC/DLRC) meeting for the quarter ended September 2025 was held at Conference Hall-I of the Office of the District Commissioner, Sonitpur, on Monday.
The meeting was presided over by the District Development Commissioner, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, and reviewed the performance of banks in the district in terms of deposits, advances, credit-deposit (CD) ratio and the disbursement status of various government schemes.
Convened by the Lead District Manager, Sonitpur, Achajya Sonowal, the meeting also assessed the progress of banks in implementing schemes such as Kisan Credit Card, PM Surya Ghar, PMEGP, PMFME, ASRLM and different social security schemes of the government.
Stress was laid on timely disposal of applications and strengthening coordination between banks and line departments to reduce delays and improve service delivery.
Chief Executive Officer, Sonitpur Zilla Parishad, Jayanta Kumar Borah, suggested adopting a convergence approach during financial literacy camps organised by rural bank branches.
He said facilitation of Aadhaar seeding, e-KYC and resolution of issues related to DBT beneficiaries could be undertaken simultaneously to ensure easier access to banking services.
Issues relating to ATM availability, timely disposal of loan applications under flagship schemes and the need for better coordination among stakeholders were also discussed.
The meeting further reviewed the settlement of claims under the Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund special campaign initiated by the Government of India since October 2025.
Banks were directed to submit branch-wise lists of government accounts maintained by them, while line departments were asked to nominate dedicated nodal officers to coordinate with banks on submitted proposals and their status.
The meeting was attended by the LDO, RBI (Assam), Bedabrata Saikia; DDM, NABARD, Suman Chatterjee; officials of Assam Gramin Bank and R-SETI, Sonitpur; branch managers of district coordinating bank branches; and officials from various departments of the district administration.
