MARGHERITA, Jan 22: In Margherita town’s Ward No 1, the newly constructed 840-meter-long “Gourav Path” in Jayanagar was formally inaugurated on Wednesday by Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma. The road, built at a cost of nearly Rs 4 crore 28 lakh 20 thousand was developed under the Chief Minister’s Urban Pucca Road Construction Scheme by the Assam Government’s Public Works (Roads) Department.
During the grand inauguration ceremony held in the presence of Jayanagar residents, MLA Sharma highlighted that the successful completion of such development schemes is possible only with the active support and cooperation of the public.
The event was presided over by Sashidhar Shyam, president of the Margherita Senior Citizen Association and attended by several dignitaries including Margherita Municipal Board Ward Commissioner Satya Ranjan Kakoty, senior citizen Somamoni Singh, Bhaskar Sharma Fans Club president Jyotish Rai, BJP leader Sukhdev Sharma, Simanta Madhav Katoky, Bhim Karmakar, Tara Prasad Dehingia, Margherita Municipal Chairman Anand Kumar Sharma, Vice Chairman Rajlakshmi Devi and senior journalist Partha Pratim Goswami.
The inauguration marks a significant step towards improving urban infrastructure in Margherita and enhancing connectivity and convenience for local residents.
