4th Mwihur international theatre festival from Feb 1

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 28: The fourth edition of the Mwihur International Theatre Festival will begin on February 1 at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari, Kokrajhar. The event is organised by the Lwrgi Theatre Group.

Addressing media, Lwrgi Theatre Group president Swmdwn Brahma said seven theatre groups from India and abroad has confirmed participation. Bodoland Territorial Council Chief Hagrama Mohilary will inaugurate the opening ceremony. On the first day, the English-language production “(Un)Belonging” by Anikaya Dance Theatre, Boston, USA, will be staged.

Competitions in spot art and storytelling will be held for students from Class V to XII, with prize money ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 8,000.

The plays to be presented during the festival include: “(Un)Belonging” (English) by Anikaya Dance Theatre, USA; “Fultar” (Bengali) by Theatre Shine, West Bengal; “Letters to the Unborn Children” (Hindi) by Santoshpur Anuchintan, West Bengal; “Mingmangni Simang” (Bodo) by Lwrgi Theatre Group, Kokrajhar; “Love You Zindegi” (Assamese) by Akhara Ghar Natya Prashikhan Kendra, Assam; “Wo Ek Zinda Admi Tha” (Hindi) by Aspiring Actor Studios, New Delhi and “Orgeng Lama” (Boro) by Rwnswndri Theatre, Baganpara, Baksa, Assam.
