40 weavers get looms to boost livelihood

MORIGAON, Feb 21: A distribution programme of 52” R.S. Fly Shuttle Frame Loom (Steel) and accessories to the passed-out trainees of Handloom Training Centres of Morigaon district was held on Saturday at the office premises of the Office of the Assistant Director, Handloom and Textiles, Morigaon.

The programme was graced by Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Dewri and Additional District Commissioner Anushuya Sharma, ACS.

Altogether, 40 passed-out trainees were benefitted under the scheme. The trainees, along with their guardians and departmental staff, were present on the occasion. The distribution aims to empower the trained weavers by providing them with essential infrastructure to take up sustainable handloom activities and enhance their livelihood opportunities.
