The tablets were ceremonially handed over by District Commissioner, Sonitpur, Ananda Kumar Das in the presence of mentors, education department officials and teachers from across the district.

Welcoming the gathering, District Education Officer and Inspector of Schools, Sonitpur District Circle, Prabhat Das, stated that students in the district have benefited significantly from the Arohan scheme over the last three years. Among others present on the dais were Additional District Commissioner (Education) James Aind, Assistant Inspector of Schools Nilotpal Sharma, District Programme Officer Krishna Kanta Deka and Secretary of the Sonitpur District Academic Council Bijoy Kandulana. A special audio-visual presentation highlighting the objectives and achievements of the Arohan scheme was also screened for the students.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, District Commissioner Ananda Kumar Das elaborated on the vision of the Arohan scheme and guided the mentees, observing that the period covering Classes IX and X forms the foundation of a student’s academic journey. He urged students to make the best use of this crucial phase, stressing that becoming value-driven and socially responsible citizens is more important than merely aspiring to conventional notions of success.

He further noted that the state government, under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, had conceptualised the scheme to ensure that students receive proper mentorship and opportunities for intellectual growth. Emphasising social responsibility, he called upon students to protect and preserve their language, literature and culture, cautioning that education loses its meaning if one forgets one’s roots. Referring to the life and philosophy of former president A P J Abdul Kalam, he encouraged students to pursue their studies with dedication, discipline and unwavering focus.
