NAGAON, Feb 25: In a bid to bring positive change to the daily commute of students, employees and the general public, the Nagaon district administration and the district transport department have launched a city bus service in Nagaon town on Tuesday.
The service was inaugurated by District Commissioner Debashish Sarma, local MLA Rupak Sarma and District Transport Officer Simanta Bora.
The city bus service aims to make the town’s transportation system more efficient, faster and convenient for the public. Initially, six buses will operate on three main corridors, covering key routes across the town. The buses will run from 8 AM to 7 PM daily, providing an affordable and reliable transportation option for commuters.
The six buses will ply on the following routes: from Bebejia Chariali to Puranigudam and from Puranigudam to Bebejia Chariali; from Dhing Gate to Kampur town and from Kampur town to Dhing Gate and from Dimou Chariali to Rupahi Bazar and from Rupahi Bazar to Dimou Chariali. The launch of the city bus service is expected to bring relief to commuters and promote sustainable transportation in the town.
