DHSK College bags Best NCC Institution Award

DIBRUGARH, April 30: The historic Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College (Autonomous) has been selected for the Best NCC Institution Award 2025–26 by the NCC NER Directorate, Shillong, representing the entire Northeast region.

According to the Principal, Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia, the recognition has been awarded based on the outstanding performance of the college’s NCC cadets at various national-level camps, along with several social service initiatives conducted under the guidance of ANO Dr Paragjyoti Chutia.

These activities include blood donation drives, awareness programmes, and the cadets’ commendable results in B and C certificate examinations. The award will be formally presented at a dignified ceremony to be held from May 4 to May 6 at the NCC NER Directorate in Shillong, with participants from across Northeast India.

Expressing his happiness and pride, Dr Saikia stated that this achievement is a matter of great honour for the institution. He credited the leadership of ANO Dr Paragjyoti Chutia and the dedication and hard work of the cadets for bringing recognition to the college across the region.

He also emphasised that this success is not only a proud moment for the college but also for the people of Dibrugarh as a whole. It is noteworthy that, along with DHSK College being selected as the best institution in the college and university category, the National Institute of Technology, Agartala was chosen as the best technical institution, while St Francis De Sales School, Guwahati was selected as the best school.

Additionally, a total of 10 NCC cadets from the college have been honoured with appreciation certificates by the Additional Director General of NCC (Northeast Region) for their exceptional performances at the national level.

Among them, cadet Raju Das earned the rare opportunity to participate in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi and attend the Prime Minister’s Rally, while cadet Debashish Dutta showcased remarkable talent in the Republic Day cultural competition. This achievement highlights the college’s commitment to excellence and its growing reputation across Northeast India.
