HOJAI, May 11: The Hojai unit of the All India Marwari Mahila Sammelan organised a blood donation camp under its Thalassemia awareness campaign in collaboration with Hamm Hospital, Hojai on May 9.
President Priyanka Beriwal told this correspondent that the camp was inaugurated with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, infusing positive energy among the donors.
Doctors from Hamm Hospital — Dr JN Barman (MS), Dr Gaurav Ghosh (Pathologist), Dr Tapas Kumar Das (MS and Secretary), Dr Ivy Das (Microbiologist), and Dr Chaidul Islam (Chief Medical Officer) were welcomed with garlands and traditional gamosas.
Dr Chaidul Islam appreciated the blood donation initiative, stating that blood donation is the greatest donation and stressed the need to inspire more people to participate in such programmes.
A total of 30 people registered at the camp, of whom 15 donated blood. Members of the committee also actively participated in the programme.
