DIBRUGARH, Sept 1: Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with pomp and gaiety in different places of Dibrugarh town on Wednesday.
The devotees thronged to the puja pandals to take blessings of Lord Ganesha.
In areas like HS Road, Chowkidinghee Market, Harijan Railway Colony, Chowkidinghee Railway Colony, Jhalakpara Ganesh Mandir and other parts of the town, puja was performed in colourful decorated pandals.
“The theme of our pandal is ‘Ganapati Thana’. The pandal was a replica of Dibrugarh police station. We have seen that the security personnel work day and night and during festivals also they have to perform their duty.
So, we decided that this time, our theme will be especially dedicated to the security personnel of our country,” said Manoj Mordani, organiser of HS Road Ganesh Puja Committee.
