In Ayurveda, it is said that the best thing for life is Ahimsa, or non-violence. Non-violence means no violence in action, words, and even thoughts. Because the words we speak are first composed in our mind according to our thoughts. Also, our thought manifests into action. What is there in our conscious and subconscious minds that get expressed in our speech and action? Thus, we should refrain from feeding our minds with negative inputs and violent stimuli through our sense organs. Whenever there is some violent scene or talk we should try not to feed them to our eyes and ears respectively. Also, the best way to keep ourselves away from violence by others is to avoid the assault as much as possible. Bruce Lee said the best way of defence in a fight is to avoid the blow by stepping away from it. In case of words of insult or violence by others, we should not take them too much personally and try to remain detached from them. Otherwise, we will get attached to them and keep thinking about it and become violent. Patience and tolerance are more powerful than violence.

Only a strong person can absorb negativity and finish it forever without giving it back to someone else. Only a stronger person can forgive the mistakes of others. All are mortals and no one is perfect, mistakes can happen to anybody. Anger is our enemy. It harms us more than others. Even if we get angry, it should be for the least amount of time. Like when we throw and stone into a pond, ripples appear and move away gradually and the pond surface becomes still again. Similarly, if something irritates our mind, we should try to bring it back to a steady and calm state as soon as possible, without getting attached to it and feeding it to grow. In Bhagwat Gita, it is said that when we keep thinking about a thing, we get attached to it. Attachment gives rise to lust and from last anger develops. In anger we become delusional, in delusion our intellect is bewildered when our intellect is disturbed, we forget every knowledge and wisdom, or our memory is lost and this leads to destruction.

Thus, it is better to stop feeding our sense organs with violence. According to the law of attraction, a violent stimulus to sense organs will lead to violent speech and action. Avoid violence as much as possible. Learn to forgive, tolerate and have patience. Absorb the negativity and not transfer it again. We should absorb the negativity if there is any like Lord Shiva absorbed & annihilated negativity by drinking poison. Practice, non-violence towards everything, in our actions, speech, or thought. Anger and violence are like fire, if we hold it for long, it will burn us. By non-violence, our body, mind, spirit, and society will be purified, and become peaceful and prosperous. We will not produce toxic biochemicals in our bodies. Thus, we will be able to avoid many diseases and accidents and give us a long, healthy, peaceful, and happy life.
